Emergency First Aid Course

This practical based course is suitable for both complete novices as well as those wishing to refresh their skills

Aims of the Course:
The course will equip the first aider with skills to be able to confidently undertake emergency first aid if someone becomes ill or injured at work/community setting and consists of 6 hours of instructor led tuition with the emphasis on practical application of first aid skills. If desired it can be certificated as Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work for which a fee of £15 applies.

Learning Goals: (by the end of the course you will be able to...)
Describe how to act safely and effectively when an accident or emergency occurs.
Demonstrate the treatment and priorities of care for an unconscious patient.
Describe how to recognise and treat a person in seizure.
Describe the recognition of cardiac arrest and delivery of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Describe how to recognise and safely treat a patient who is choking and a patient who is bleeding.

About the Course:
This practical based course is suitable for both complete novices as well as those wishing to refresh their skills. It can also lead to a work base qualification or be certificated as part of a CPD programme. It is practically based and focuses on knowing what to do if you should be first on the scene of a medical emergency involving a casualty of any age.

If desired successful candidates will be awarded a qualification in Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for 3 years and certificated by WorkSafe Training Systems (cost implication) or Nuco Ltd but this is not required of those attending this training.
