Are you looking for somewhere different to hold your event? Would you like to hire Alton's town centre? Would you like help in staging an event?
The paved Market Square in Alton, surrounded by pubs and restaurants, is ideally suited for small fairs, markets and other events, especially where a stage is needed. The High St, which is regularly used by our weekly market and for French markets, can accommodate more than 25 stalls and can be used in conjunction with Market Square for bigger events. Nearby are the Public Gardens, complete with a bandstand. Take a look at some of the photographs under "Previous events" on this web site to see examples of how the venues have been used for such events as a '50s Day, Alton in the '40s, a Classic Car Show and a car enthusiasts' meet.
There is ample car parking close to the venues and good access from the A31, A32 and A339 trunk roads. A road closure licence must be applied for from the District council, which requires 6 weeks notice, but this and other services, including the Town Crier, crowd and traffic marshalling, electrical power, PA and additional refreshment facilities can be provided as part of the hire agreement.
